Welcome to 2011! And what a welcome we have had! More snow than I have seen in years in Michigan! I don’t know about you, but I’m ready for some warm weather events! Michigan Association for Healthcare Quality has already begun planning just that for you.
Once again, we welcome the Disney Institute to Michigan in
May with a presentation of Leadership Excellence and People
Management on Friday, May 13, at the Lexington in Lansing,
Michigan. This venue proved to be an excellent site for our
Fall 2010 conference, and promises to offer an equally
excellent setting for this newly revised seminar by the
Disney Institute.
Our program committee, which has been enlarged to
accommodate the excellent events we plan to offer
this year, is working hard in conjunction with Disney to
obtain the necessary continuing education units for our
healthcare quality professionals.
In addition, our Fall 2011 conference planning has begun.
This year the plan is to enlarge the conference to include
vendors that offer opportunities for additional learning and
exposure to products used in this evolving world of
healthcare quality. We have reserved the Lexington for that
event as well. We welcome your insight into any topics or
vendors you might like to include, as planning is still
underway.
As we grow, take notice of our new and improved web site,
which is ever-changing. In addition, this newsletter has
received many accolades. The National Association for
Healthcare Quality has awards for excellence in these areas,
and MAHQ will be investigating pursuing this award. We
welcome your input into how we can enhance both to make them
more useful to you, our members.
As we journey through this year of constant change in
healthcare, we will work together to keep healthcare quality
in the forefront for our patients and communities.
I welcome your e-mail or calls with comments/or suggestions
on what YOUR organization can do to accomplish this task.
You may contact any board member by going to the Website,
and clicking the corresponding board position. Please feel
free to share your thoughts with us, and be active in this
community of healthcare professionals!
