Legislation has raised the speed limit on some Michigan highways to 75 mph. What does this mean for hospitals? Did you know hospitals can request a 10 mph decrease if:
- The portion of the road is near a hospital campus
- The requesting hospital is located along highways with a posted speed limit of at least 50 mph
- If the request was supported by an engineering and safety study
- Bear in mind, if a change in sign, signal, or device were necessitated by a speed limit decrease, the requesting hospital would have to pay the cost of doing so.
